A Note from Rev Jill: 12/2/2021

A Note from Rev. Jill

Dear Friends,

I am writing this in the waning light of this day, as I am warmed beyond measure by your generosity in supporting Unity of Wimberley on this Giving Tuesday (November 30, 2021)! You have more than doubled our goal, and I don’t have words to say how grateful I am.

This falls in line with the rising energy that we’ve all been experiencing since October, when we began meeting in person again. I wish I could pinpoint the moment when the shift began, but I am content with knowing that it is a result of our vision to outlast the malaise brought on by the pandemic. And “outlast” isn’t even an accurate description of what we have done. It would be more fitting to say that we persevered, held onto patience, clung to and visualized the idea of joining again with each other. We knew that just as Unity of Wimberley thrived before the pandemic, it would continue to be a place of inspiration, joyful fellowship, and abundance. It may look a little different than it did before, but the essential elements that define us, that drive our mission and vision, are the same.

The ideas of “death” and rebirth, seasons of change, and necessary dormancy are not new to us. But they always bear revisiting. Even as our doors were closed and our contact was remote, creative energy was continuing behind the scenes and in consciousness, just as nature alters the natural rhythms of hibernating bears! The bears do not cease to exist because they are hidden from sight! Just so, we altered our expectations and engagement to accommodate the changing world environment during this pandemic. Our spiritual community stayed healthy because you did that. And in your own time and way, you rejoin the community.

Thank you for staying the course. Thank you for not letting go of what matters to you. Thank you for your joyful enthusiasm as we continue this holiday season.

Much love and many blessings,

Rev Jill
