As we continue our Lenten journey, I offer you words of encouragement and good hope. Many of you have had a rocky start during this new decade, and now the news is filled with the real (and often doomsday-tinged) threat of a global pandemic. But I am here to remind you that God is more powerful than our fear, more powerful than our personal challenges, more powerful than our darkest nights. As we journey around the sun, we know that there is cold and heat, darkness and light, drought and flood, death and rebirth. Our responsibility is to look after our relationship with God, to treat ourselves with kindness, compassion and courage---and to extend the same to our brothers and sisters.
Please continue to grow with faith, to feed the people who have less, to pray in every way that occurs to you (and to let prayer pray you!), and to protect yourself and your loved ones with reasonable caution. We are strong in Spirit and body, and we trust that all is well in God's world.
With much love and many blessings,
Rev. Jill Carey
