Energy and Power of Prayer: Rev Jill Carey 1/17/2020

Dear Friends,

I thank you all from the depths of my heart for the loving, prayerful support you’ve given my family and me in the last few weeks. It has made some very stressful and difficult times easier for all of us. My husband Bill is slowly recovering in his heart and brain from his recent medical crises. We are grateful for every day and are taking each one as it comes.

In our Wednesday night class this week, we talked briefly about the energy and power of praying for others. It is a mystery that we may never be able to answer, but most of you have experienced the unexplainable sweetness of a moment lightened by the prayers of others. Just that fleeting acknowledgment of our oneness with each other, our knowing that God is present and at work in the lives of those we love---that is the invisible, magnetic power that transcends time and space. Never think for a moment that your selfless, affirmative thought-form does not make a difference---it does! And know that when you have a brief experience of peace in the midst of stress, when you have a deep and restful night of sleep when all around seems chaotic, that someone has been holding a prayer for you.

I am here to tell you that it works, without a doubt. I have felt you lifting us up, knowing the Truth, loving us unconditionally.

And if you find yourself in need of prayer, give yourself and another the gift of saying so. For in this, we are of One Heart, One Spirit.

With much love and many blessings,

Rev. Jill
