Live As If You Were Dying--
A New, Year-Long Book Study with Molly Steel & Lisa Cole
What would you do if you knew you had only one year to live?
Why not go ahead and do it?
Join grief educator Molly Steel and nurse practitioner Lisa Cole for a year-long study of Stephen Levine's book, A Year to Live: How to Live This Year As If It Were Your Last.
This book group will meet once a month from 10:30 - noon at Unity of Wimberley on the first Thursday of each month starting February 1.
Author Stephen Levine decided to live as if he were dying for a year, based on the knowledge that Socrates, on his deathbed, exhorted his followers to practice dying as the highest form of wisdom.
Many of us go to extraordinary lengths to ignore, laugh off, or deny the fact that we are going to die. But preparing for death teaches us how to live each moment, each hour, each day mindfully -- as if it were all that was left.
Levine's book shares how such immediacy radically changes our view of the world and forces us to examine our priorities.
"For over 20 years, Stephen Levine worked creatively to help thousands of people approach death with equanimity, truth and open hearts. I can think of no one better qualified to help us enrich our lives through embracing the mystery of death." -- Ram Dass
The year long book study will begin Thurs Feb 1 from 10:30 - noon at Unity. Meetings will continue on the first Thursday at 10:30 of each month for 1 year.
Lisa Cole will be joining Molly Steel as co-facilitator. Lisa has been working with clients and families coping with end of life issues for some time.
Not sure if this is for you.? A little curious? Check it out at Unity on Thursday, February 1 at 10:30!
