I am excited to present our new Wednesday night class, with accompanying themes on Sunday mornings. Many of you are familiar with the work of
the author of The Gifts of Imperfection and Daring Greatly, among other outstanding books. If you are not, I encourage you to search her TED talks on YouTube for a glimpse of who she is and what she teaches. We are embarking on a seven-week class, Dare to Lead, starting August 7. (See details below). From the book:
"Leadership is not about titles, status, and wielding power. A leader is anyone who takes responsibility for recognizing the potential in people and ideas, and has the courage to develop that potential.
When we dare to lead, we don't pretend to have the right answers; we stay curious and ask the right questions. We don't see power as finite and hoard it; we know that power becomes infinite when we share it with others. We don't avoid difficult conversations; we lean into vulnerability when it's necessary to do good work."
This is just a taste of what we will be exploring. Unlike previous classes, in which there were presentations and discussion, we will be actively engaged with others in groups of two to three people. For the last fifteen months, you have been willing to study the basic spiritual principles that we espouse; and you have explored within yourselves the places in which fear, anger, and "living small" reside. This class will go beyond what we have done in the past to re-create ourselves as the bold, daring, confident people Spirit created us to be. I hope you will take this next leap into our magnificent journey.
Much love, many blessings,
