Shawl Knitters
The Flying Fingers of Unity are still knitting prayer shawls. Their monthly knitting bee is this Friday at 1 pm. You don't need to knit to join them - they'll teach you! The prayer shawls are blessed by the group and given to church members who are experiencing illness, loss or even a birth, so they will be wrapped in the prayers of the church!

Call for Birdseed
Time to restock our birdseed. So far this spring, 44 baby birds of different varieties have hatched and flown! The bluebird parents recently welcomed another four bald babies (above). Any birdseed will do, but the favorite of our local cardinals, titmice and doves is Brooks Brand Deluxe Wild Bird Blend. If you can donate a bag, just leave it in the kitchen. And thank you!

What Would Make You Happy?
Rev. Ellen Debenport
What would it take to make you happy?
Would you need to add something to your life? Or instead, let go of something?
I ran across an article called "15 Things You Should Give Up to Be Happy," and they amounted to a checklist for spiritual maturity. In this little video, we can go through the list together and see how we're doing. Five minutes to happiness!
What could you release from your life in order to be happier? Share your ideas.
Here's the original article about 15 Things, if you want to read it without my commentary!

Languages of Peace
Peace Pole Survey Still Open
You still have time to register your preferences for the languages we'll use on our new peace pole. (Details were in last week's blog.)
The comments on the survey have been interesting. Some people thought we should use only the languages of peaceful people. Others thought we should make a point of including less peaceful cultures as an affirmation for them.
The peace pole will have the words "May Peace Prevail on Earth" in eight languages.

The Key to Swimming
Pool Memberships on Sale
Want to swim all summer? Take these three easy steps:
- Fill out the paperwork. Be sure to read the rules and sign the waiver.
- Bring your signed pool forms to the church with your payment.
- Receive your key to the pool gate.
Pool office hours are 10 am to 4 pm Mondays or before and after church services on Sundays.
In addition, Susan Renee Houchin will begin her popular water classes June 3 for exercise at all levels. Those details are here. To take a class, first sign up for membership, then pay Susan separately for the classes.
Questions? Problems? Comments? Talk to business manager Cherie Conway.
As always, people from outside the church are welcome to buy memberships IF someone in the church will vouch for them as a sponsor. Please sponsor only people you know well. You're responsible for them.
